This is a service announcement... parents, talk to your kids. I know you are thinking, "Duh, Marcy..." but I'm after a certain kind of talk. When kiddos are learning language they listen first. We all learn via imitation and model. Parent, if you are at home all day with your toddler, talk! Talk to them about what you are doing... ironing, making dinner, cleaning up their toys and which ones. It may feel silly at first, but I promise, you are helping your little one learn all those common labels, action words, and routines! Keep up the good work!
